RUMFORD — Brooke Brown and Ali Mazza scored 11 points apiece to pace Mountain Valley in its 52-28 girls basketball victory over Buckfield on Friday.

Brooke Bennett contributed seven points, eight rebounds and four steals, and Maddie Brown had seven points and seven rebounds for the Falcons (4-3). Mazza also pulled down five boards.

Buckfield’s Sarae Devoe scored a game-high 20 pointes, including all 11 of the Bucks’ (0-6) first-quarter points, after which they led 11-7. The Falcons took the lead in the second quarter and pulled away by outscoring Buckfield 22-4 in the third.

MADISON 55, DIRIGO 40: Raegan Cowan and Elizabeth Kelly led the Bulldogs (5-2) to an MVC win over the Cougars (3-5) in Madison.

Cowan scored a team-high 14 points and Kelley added 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Dirigo’s Grace Robbins put up a game-high 16 points, while Jayce Brophy finished with 11.

OAK HILL 35, BOOTHBAY 34: Peyton Gonya and Ariana Thibeault scored 13 points apiece to lead the Raiders (1-6) to their first win of the season against the Seahawks in Boothbay Harbor.

Kathryn Hibbard paced Boothbay (1-7) with 13 points and Meg Sledge added eight.

BOYS HOCKEY
FRYEBURG/LAKE REGION/OXFORD HILLS 3, KENNEBUNK/WELLS 2: Kadan Neureuther led the Ice Cats with a goal and an assist in a win over the Rams at University of New England’s Alfond Forum in Biddeford.

Caleb Micklon and Jacob Lemery also scored in the victory for the Ice Cats (2-2), while Owen Galligan notched two assists. Nathan Metcalf stopped 16 shots.

Cooper Samson and Ben Urban scored for Kennebunk/Wells (2-6), while Richard Pocius made 18 saves.
