LIVERMORE FALLS — The Treat Memorial Library invites people to come in and craft at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the 56 Main St. library.
Cabin fever crafts are planned. The event is free, open to all ages, and full of crafty supplies.
Library organizers plan to hold its third Explorers Club meeting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21. The club is a space for kids to engage in imaginative STEAM activities, experiments, and challenges. Explorers Club is recommended for explorers 8 and older.
Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m., the library will host Story Time inside with favorite picture books, singalongs, and other activities.
Book Club will hold a hybrid meeting, both Zoom and in person, at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12. “The Final Girl Support Group” by Grady Hendrix will be discussed as part of ‘Best of Goodreads’ series. People should inform staff if a copy of the book up for discussion is needed.
Patrons can check out the staffs’ latest favorites from the shelves with Bonkers for Books, their monthly recommendation on Facebook. They plan to share some of their favorites on Saturday, Jan. 28.
The library has received a donation of locally born poet Louise Bogan’s books and ephemera, including a correspondence with fellow poet Claire McAllister, according to a news release from the library.
These items were donated by Frederick Hinchliffe II. The staff plans to use them in the development of a local history archive. Those interested in helping develop this collection can call the library at 207-897-3631 or email Alana Knapp, assistant director, at assist.treatlib@gmail.com.
The library will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 17, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
