WEST PARIS — A special town meeting will be held Thursday evening to vote on money to cover an overdraft in the cemetery account and wages for the Planning Board for 2022.

The meeting starts at 5 p.m. in the meeting room of the Town Office at 25 Kingsbury St.

The first article asks voters to appropriate $6,367.54 for the cemetery account. Town Manager Joy Downing said the person hired to mow the cemeteries quit just before Memorial Day and another company was hired at a contracted fee.

The second article asks residents to appropriate $309 to cover wages for the Planning Board. Downing said she based the budget on past years when the Planning Board did not have a full slate of members and only met occasionally. The board has a full seven members and meets monthly.

The money to pay for both articles will come from the undesignated fund balance.
