100 Years Ago: 1922

The D. of P. of Mechanic Falls will have a degree team rehearsal Thursday evening, followed by a Christmas tree. Every member is requested to attend and bring a gift costing not over 25 cents.

50 Years Ago: 1972

An inspection to determine if the leased housing project on the Stevens Mills Road qualifies for a certificate of occupancy is scheduled to be contacted Thursday. Harry W. Woodard Jr., executive director of the Auburn Housing Authority, said the city building inspector is expected to examine the 20 dwelling units then. Woodward reported that if the certificate is issued, the project would then be turned over to the AHA. The executive director has screened more than 100 applicants for residency in the leased housing dwelling units and urged any others interested to apply to the AHA.

25 Years Ago: 1997

The Pleasant Note Coffeehouse will present Rowe by Rowe and Phil House at the First Universalist Church, 169 Pleasant St, at 8 p.m. Saturday in a special holiday concert.
