DOVER, N.H. — St. Dom’s scored twice in the third period to win 5-4 and overcome Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble’s second-period rally in a boys hockey contest Monday.
Five players scored for the Saints (2-1), who scored the first three goals of the game.
Miles Frenette and Tim Ouellette both scored off Ben Dumais assists to stake St. Dom’s to a 2-0 lead after one period. The Saints went up 3-0 on Erik Jones’ goal off an assist from Spencer Morgan in the second.
The Knighthawks (1-2) stormed back with three goals in the final four minutes of the middle frame. Ayden Lockhard, Danny Fuller and Zach Camp all found the back of the net.
Bradley Wentworth put the Knighthawks ahead early in the third period before Morgan tied it for St. Dom’s. Ethan Pelletier scored with about seven minutes left to win it for the Saints.
Jayden Lynn made 15 saves in goal for St. Dom’s, while Ben Ott stopped 20 of 24 shots for the Knighthawks.
GIRLS HOCKEY
LEWISTON 6, PORTLAND/DEERING 0: Ava Geoffrey opened the scoring with a first-period goal for the Blue Devils (4-1) as they blanked the Bulldogs (0-6) at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.
Avaya Desjardins had a goal and an assist for Lewistion, and Fiona Landry, Courtney Lachance and Dayla Tripp had second-period goals. Sadie Goyette scored in the third, directing in a shot from Alyssa Marcoux.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
HALL-DALE 82, DIRIGO 30: Hayden Madore exploded for 27 points to pace the Bulldogs (3-0) past the Cougars (1-1) in Dixfield.
KJ Greenhalgh scored 13 of her 14 points in the first quarter for Hall-Dale, which jumped out to a 23-5 lead after eight minutes.
Jayce Brophy led Dirigo with 10 points and Emily Woods added nine.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 67, MONMOUTH 29: Olivia Mastine’s 25 points led the Phoenix (3-0) to an MVC win over the Mustangs (2-1) in Jay.
Aubrey Kachnovich and Jaydn Pingree each added 12 point, Jazmine Pingree scored nine and Emily Dubord finished with eight for Spruce Mountain.
The Phoenix outscored the Mustangs 37-8 over the second and third periods to turn an 18-10 lead into a 55-18 advantage.
Holly Hunt led Monmouth with nine points, and Kaitlyn Frost scored six points.
WINTHROP 66, OAK HILL 17: Morgan Fichthorn put up 30 points to lead the Ramblers (4-0) past the Raiders (0-3) in Wales.
Ella Rice added 13 points and Madeline Wagner scored nine for Winthrop.
Ari Theriault topped Oak Hill with five points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
DIRIGO 67, HALL-DALE 51: Airick Richard scored 25 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Cougars (4-0) over the Bulldogs (3-1) in an early-season battle of MVC unbeatens in Farmingdale.
Charlie Houghton added 11 and Dakota Tompkins 10 for Dirigo, which finally pulled away by outscoring Hall-Dale 20-8 in the fourth quarter.
The Bulldogs also had three players finish in double figures, led by TJ Wilson’s 16. Carter Bourque added 15 and Jackson Leach 13.
LISBON 67, WISCASSET 37: Levi Tibbetts made 12 field goals and poured in 26 points to pace the Greyhounds (2-1) past the Wolverines (0-3) in Lisbon.
Tibbetts and Chase Mailhot scored eight and seven points, respectively, as Lisbon built a 21-11 lead after one quarter. Mailhot finished with 12 points, including a pair of 3-pointers. Canaan Cameron added seven points, and six other players scored for the Greyhounds.
Dylan Akers drained five 3s and scored a team-high 17 points for Wiscasset.
WINTHROP 80, OAK HILL 55: Cole Bard scored 21 points to lead the Ramblers to a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Raiders in Winthrop.
Matt Beck scored 16 points, while Braden Branagan added 12 points for Winthrop (2-1).
Eli Desmond led Oak Hill (0-3) with 22 points, while Ethan Vattaso added 14.
