Nick Pelletier scored the game-winner in overtime as North Yarmouth Academy edged Hebron Academy 2-1 on the first day of the Brooks-Pingree Tournament in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, on Friday.
Pellatier, who previously played for Lewiston High School, scored at 4:31 of overtime off assists from fellow Lewiston native Connor Wolverton and Hugo Daniel.
Jan Maier scored the Panthers’ first goal in the first period, with Zach Stabb assisting.
Anthony DeFilio scored the Hebron goal off assists from Ryan Teehan and Anthony Lombardo.
Euan Martin made 19 saves in goal for NYA to earn the win. The Panthers sent 45 shots at the Lumberjacks’ goal, 43 of which were turned away by Hebron goalie Mason Rosado.
Both teams will play two more games at the tournament on Saturday.
