Promising newcomers: Boys: Freshmen — Jack Martel, Kendyll Potvin, Matthew Tabet, Beck Walker, Noah Cote. Girls: Juniors — Piper Bonnefond, Natalia Russell; Freshmen —  Olivia Casares, Marin Heath, Lyra Raymond, Olivia Turgeon.
Season outlook: The girls team will be led by Mya Vincent, Jalee Boucher, and Ashlyn Holbrook. Piper Bonnefond and Natalia Russell, Olivia Casares and Olivia Turgeon also should score points. The girls team will be competitive with most of the KVAC swim league opponents this season and should earn valuable points at the state championship. The Edward Little/Leavitt boys will be led by Andrew Casares, the two-time Sun Journal All-Region Boys Swimmer of the Year who holds multiple school records, Gavin Holbrook, Isaac Raymond and Chase Leonardo. Scott Morrison expects Bjorn Sandberg, Gage Smith and Leif Walker, along with freshmen Jack Martel, Matthew Tabet, Kendyll Potvin and Beck Walker to also contribute to the team. The boys will look to be the top KVAC team and finish again in the top 10 at the state meet.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER PATRIOTS
Coach: Scott Morrison (second year)
Class: A
Returning athlete: Ian Scott
Season outlook: Scott Morrison said Scott, who is in his second year of high school swimming, has the potential to improve on his times and hopefully qualify for the Class A state championship.

HEBRON LUMBERJACKS
Coach: Scott Morrison (fifth year)
Class: A
Last year’s results: Girls: 18th at state meet. Boys: 12st at state meet.
Returning athlete: Girls:  SophomoreEmma Frumiento
Key loss: Ethan Frumiento (Sun Journal all-region team).
Season outlook: The reigning Sun Journal Girls Swimmer of the Year, Emma Frumiento, aims to be even better in her sophomore season. As a freshman, she finished fifth in the Class A state championship in the 50-yard free with a time of 26.22 and 11th in the 100 freestyle with a 1:00.53. Coach Scott Morrison expects Frumiento to be a contender at the state meet once again this season.

LEWISTON BLUE DEVILS
Coach: Troy Boutin (ninth year)
Conference: KVAC; Class: A
Last year’s results: Boys: Fifth at KVAC meet, 14th at state meet; Girls: Fourth at KVAC meet, 14th at state meet.
Returning athletes: Boys: Senior — Yassin Hassan; Junior — Mason Scardoni; Girls: Seniors — Gabby Blais, Bri Letourneau, Amber Landry; Sophomores — Carelle Ninganza, Chloe Trembley.
Key losses: Libby Forgues (Sun Journal all-region team), Fiona Landry (Sun Journal all-region team), Maddy Cote (Sun Journal all-region team), Gavin Bavis (Sun Journal all-region team).
Promising newcomers: Boys: Junior — Sully Abdi; Sophomore — Alex Charles; Freshman — Hamdi Mohamed; Girls: Freshmen — Klara Cloutier, Gabby Roy, Maya Gunther.
Season outlook: Coach Troy Boutin said the team is defined by the heart, strength of character and sportsmanship that the swimmers show one another and opponents. The experienced swimmers provide leadership and support for the newcomers. Boutin has noticed the new swimmers have a passion for learning and success. He expects the team to experience wide-ranging growth and success throughout the season.

LISBON GREYHOUNDS
Coach: Scott Morrison (14 years, intermittently)
Class: A
Returning athletes: Girls: Senior — Loressa Potvin; Junior — Lilah Bright.
Season outlook: Morrison said that Potvin and Bright will continue to improve their times from last year. While they didn’t qualify for the Class A state meet in 2021-22, they both swim in a variety of events, which will help their chances. During the regular season, they will get to team up with some of Edward Little’s individual swimmers and compete in unofficial relays.

POLAND KNIGHTS

Coach: Scott Morrison (second year)
Class: A
Last year’s results: Boys: 20th at state meet.
Returning athlete: Boys: Sophomore — Cameron Lemieux.
Season outlook: Lemieux had an outstanding freshman season, finishing eighth in the 100-yard backstroke event at the Class A state championship meet. He also had a 13th-place showing in the 50-yard freestyle race. Scott Morrison said Lemieux can improve his times this season.

ST. DOMINIC SAINTS
Coach: Scott Morrison (fifth year)
Class: A
Last year’s results: Boys: 19th at state meet.
Returning athletes: Boys: Sophomores — Daniel Burnham, Brockton Morissette, Joshua Parenteau.
Key losses: Ellie Russell (Sun Journal all-region team), Patrick Manson (Sun Journal all-region team).
Season outlook: Daniel Burnham, Brockton Morissette and Joshua Parenteau helped the Saints to a 19th-place finish at the Class A state championships in relay races last season. Scott Morrison said all three hope they can reach the state meet in individual races this winter.
