Former Maine Nordiques Academy forward Anthony Galante scored twice in the third period to give his current team, the Johnstown Tomahawks, a 5-2 win over the Maine Nordiques in an NAHL East Division contest Saturday night in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Galante spent the 2020-21 season with the Maine Nordiques Academy’s 18U team. He put up 35 goals and 39 assists in 74 games that year.

Before Galante’s scoring outburst in the third period, James Barbour put Johnstown (12-12-2, 26 points) up 1-0 in the first period.

Defenseman Serling Wolters tied the game late in the first period for the Nordiques (13-10-1, 27 points).

Johnny Ulicny beat Nordiques goalie Kael DePape (37 saves) midway through the second stanza as Johnstown retook the lead.

Nordiques forward Kellen Murphy notched his 11th tally of the season two minutes into the third period.

Galante scored the eventual game-winning goal in the middle of the third on the power play.

Johnstown went 1 for 2 on the man-advantage and Maine went 0 for 2.

Ulicny added his second goal of the game at the 11:59 mark of the third period, while Galante scored 12 seconds later to cap the scoring.

Galante now has 12 goals on the season.

Adam Johnson made 33 saves in the win.

The Nordiques return to The Colisee on Friday and Saturday to take on the East Division-leading Maryland Black Bears.
