100 Years Ago: 1922

The Star Circle in Dixfield has been postponed one week and will meet with Mrs. Flora Swett Judkins, Thursday evening December 14th. All members are expected to earn fifty cents and report at this meeting their way of earning it.

50 Years Ago: 1972

Richard “Dick” Osgood, former ELHS Skiing coach — now on the staff at Lost Valley — will be the speaker at the Dec. 6 luncheon meeting of the Auburn-Lewiston Kiwanis Club, at The Roundhouse Motor Inn, Auburn. As his topic, he has chosen “Ski Safety.”

25 Years Ago: 1997

The Daycare Connection will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Auburn Middle School. Local storyteller Dorothy Getchell, as Mrs. Santa Claus, will share her storytelling techniques with childcare providers. She will be telling the group some modern Christmas tales.

Child-care providers are invited to bring their own children to enjoy the stories. Pictures with Mrs. Claus will be taken, and a holiday celebration will follow.

The Daycare Connection is a training and support group for childcare providers.
