Three local veterans were awarded Quilts of Valor on Tuesday, Sept. 6, during their monthly coffee gathering at Daddy O’s restaurant in Oxford.
Arthur Hill, JoAnn Hill and Roy Earle Jr., all of Norway, were each presented a quilt and certificate by Quilts of Valor volunteer and fellow veteran Teresa Drag of Paris, according to a news release from Drag.
Arthur Hill was a military pilot reaching the rank of Lieutenant in the Navy. JoAnn Hill was a Hospital Corpsman, HM3, in the Navy. Earle was a Private First Class in the Marine Corps and participated in the battle of Iwo Jima during World War II.
