OXFORD — John Gleason of Oxford has been missing since January 22.
Oxford Police Chief Rickie Jack is hoping that by issuing another alert just as hunting season begins, hunters will keep their eyes open for “anything unusual” they might come across while hunting.
“We have been working all along with the Maine State Police, Medical Examiner’s Office, Maine Warden Service and local police departments as well as family and police in Massachusetts,” said Jack. “We’ve never stopped investigating but now with hunting season we hope hunters will keep an eye out for anything suspicious or unusual.”
The 57-year-old Gleason is 6-foot-1, 220 pounds with blue eyes and grey hair. He has ties to Massachusetts but has not been in contact with anyone there, according to police.
Hunting season will bring many more eyes to the woods than law enforcement is able to so Jack is hopeful.
Anyone with information is asked to call Oxford Police at 207-539-4414 or Oxford County dispatch at 207-743-9554.
