CARSON HONORED: Oxford Hills graduate Brooke Carson, a junior at the University of Southern Maine, is the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

Carson scored five goals had tallied three assists in three wins for the Huskies last week, including the first hat trick of her career in a 6-1 win over Framingham State.

Carson has scored 12 goals and set up four others in 16 games this season.

PERKINS SISTERS RECOGNIZED: Former Winthrop standouts Katie and Maddie Perkins of Husson were chosen as the New England Collegiate Conference Players of the Week.

Senior Katie Perkins’s week was highlighted by a two-goal, one-assist performance in a win over UMaine-Farmington.

Maddie Perkins, a freshman, who also was named the rookie of the week for the second straight week and the third time this season, scored three goals and assisted on one in the Eagles’ wins over UMF and Thomas College.

Additionally, Husson goalie Kimmie Goddard, who is from Westbrook, is the defensive player of the week after earning two shutouts.

HOOKS’ PERFORMANCE REWARDED: Bates College senior linebacker Tony Hooks has been named the NESCAC Defensive Player of the Week setting the school record for tackles in a game in a 21-14 win over Bowdoin on Saturday.

Hooks, from New Rochelle, New York, tallied 23 tackles in the game, surpassing the previous program high of 21 set by Mike Holte in 1996.

Hooks currently leads the NESCAC in tackles with 12.2 per game.

PARADIS KICKING IT: Husson kicker Aaron Paradis, a Poland graduate, was selected as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.

Paradis kicked a 23-yard field goal and made all five of his PATs in the Eagles’ 38-26 win over Curry. He also placed a punt inside the 20-yard line.

Two of Paradis’ teammates also were honored: quarterback Nic Visser as the offensive player of the week and linebacker Tucker Buzzell as defensive player of the week.
