October is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary.

It marks the month in which Mary appeared for the last time to shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal, urging them to “say the rosary every day to obtain peace for the world,” according to a news release from Dave Guthro of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland’s Office of Communications.

In celebration, 20 Rosary rallies are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 15. All ages are welcome, including individuals who have never prayed the Rosary before.
