Emma Schneider tied the game with 16:54 remaining and Abby Kraemer scored the winner with 12:29 left as Maine rallied for a 3-2 win over Vermont in a women’s soccer match Sunday in Burlington, Vermont.
Emma Donovan assisted on both the tying and go-ahead goals as Maine improved to 7-2-3 overall and 3-0-2 in America East.
Kraemer started the scoring with a penalty kick in the 14th minute.
WESLEYAN 3, BATES 0: Grace Devanny and Andrea Chiappetti each had a goal and an assist for the Cardinals (5-4-2, 3-3-1 NESCAC) in a win over the Bobcats (3-6-2, 0-5-2) at Middletown, Connecticut.
AMHERST 2, BOWDOIN 1: Patience Kum’s goal with 7:53 left gave the Mammoths (9-2, 5-2 NESCAC) a win over the Polar Bears (7-3-1, 2-3-1) at Amherst, Massachusetts.
Bowdoin’s Rachael Peacock tied the game 10 minutes before Kum’s goal.
HAMILTON 3, COLBY 1: The Continentals (5-2-4, 2-2-4 NESCAC) struck for three goals in the first half to beat the Mules (4-7, 0-7) in Clinton, New York.
Jane Maguire scored Colby’s goal midway through the second half.

UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 1, WHEATON 0: Shelly Tremblay and Kate Lindmark converted UNE’s first two attempts in the shootout and Lindsay Pych stopped all four shootout attempts by Wheaton to lift the Nor’easters (7-6) over the Lyons (3-10).
BATES 3, WESLEYAN 2: Kami Lambert scored twice in the second quarter and set up a third-quarter goal by Ella Blum, leading the Bobcats (7-5, 3-4 NESCAC) past the Cardinals (3-7, 1-6) in Middletown, Connecticut.
AMHERST 3, BOWDOIN 1: Beth Williamson broke a 1-1 tie with a penalty stroke early in the second half as the Mammoths (8-2, 5-2 NESCAC) beat the Polar Bears (7-3, 2-3) in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Bowdoin’s Maya Malenfant scored in the first half.
BABSON 4, ST. JOSEPH’S 2: Andrea Marguerite, Isabelle Fournier and Amber Rose all scored one goal and set up another as the Bobcats (9-3) defeated the Monks (8-6) in Standish.
Rose got the clincher with 3:07 remaining after St. Joseph’s closed to within 3-2 on fourth-quarter goals by Megan Quirion and Aimee Adams.
HAMILTON 3, COLBY 1: Tracey Stafford scored twice as the Continentals (8-3, 4-3 NESCAC) raced to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter against the Mules (5-6, 1-6) in Clinton, New York.
Colby’s Casey Winslow tallied an unassisted goal in the second quarter.

COLBY 1, HAMILTON 1: Aidan O’Brien’s first-half goal for Colby (3-2-7, 0-2-5 NESCAC) was matched by Charles Hawthorn of Hamilton (8-0-3, 4-0-3) with 8:16 remaining as the teams played to a draw in Clinton, New York.
BOWDOIN 0, AMHERST 0: Bowdoin keeper Michael Webber made four saves as the Polar Bears (8-1-2, 3-1-2 NESCAC) battled to a scoreless draw against the Mammoths (7-1-4, 2-1-4) in Amherst, Massachusetts.
MEN’S HOCKEY
DENVER 3, MAINE 1: Carter Mazur assisted on the first goal, then scored twice – all in the first period – as the defending NCAA champion Pioneers (2-0) defeated the Black Bears (1-1) Saturday in Denver, Colorado.
Maine avoided a shutout when Donavan Villeneuve-Houle scored with 39 seconds left.
BATES 4, WESLEYAN 4: Bates (5-4-2, 1-4-2 NESCAC) erased a 3-0 deficit with four straight goals in a 20-minute span of the second half but settled for a tie against Wesleyan (6-3-2, 3-2-2) in Middletown, Connecticut.
Tife Agunloye scored twice, including a penalty kick that started the comeback. Sebastian Iacovitti and Rawson Welch added a goal apiece.
FOOTBALL
TOP 25: Georgia took back the No. 1 spot in The Associated Press college football poll from Alabama on Sunday after being bumped out last week by the Crimson Tide, who slid to No. 3.
The Bulldogs received 32 first-place votes and 1,535 points in the Top 25 to easily reclaim No. 1. They were just two points behind Alabama at No. 2 last week.
Georgia thumped Auburn 42-10 on Saturday. The Tide, whose Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Bryce Young was sidelined by injury, escaped an upset bid at home by Texas A&M.
Ohio State moved up a spot to No. 2, receiving 20 first-place votes and 1,507 points.
No. 3 is a season-low for Alabama, which was preseason No. 1 but fell to No. 2 after Week 2. The Tide received 11 first-place votes.
