Freddie Brock scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, including a tiebreaking 25-yard pass from Joe Fagnano with 7:15 remaining, and Maine earned its first football win of the season, rallying for a 31-24 Colonial Athletic Association victory Saturday in Hampton, Virginia.
It was the first career victory for UMaine Coach Jordan Stevens.
Maine (1-4, 1-1 CAA) trailed 24-17 after a 36-yard field goal by Hampton’s Axel Perez with six seconds left in the third quarter. The Black Bears then drove 75 yards on seven plays, capped by Brock’s 7-yard run.
Maine needed just four plays to drive 74 yards for the winning touchdown. After a 24-yard run by Elija Barnwell, Fagnano connected with Montigo Moss for a 24-yard game, then hooked up with Brock on the next play.
Fagnano completed 19 of 24 passes for 213 yards. Barnwell rushed 11 times for 90 yards and a touchdown, and Zavier Scott had a 27-yard scoring run in the second quarter.
Malcolm Mays completed 12 of 27 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns for Hampton (3-2, 0-2).
HUSSON 31, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND 14: Tucker Buzzell returned an interception 35 yards with 13 seconds left to secure the victory as the Eagles (2-4, 1-1 Commonwealth Coast) beat the Nor’easters (3-2, 1-1) in Bangor.
Nic Visser completed 30 of 40 passes for 352 yards and two second-half touchdowns for Husson. He also rushed 10 times for 70 yards.
Jarrett Henault was 15 of 33 for 189 yards with three interceptions for UNE. He rushed 15 times for 65 yards and two touchdowns.
WESLEYAN 31, COLBY 14: The Cardinals (3-1) scored 28 points in the second quarter and rolled past the Mules (3-3) in Middletown, Connecticut.
Wesleyan quarterbacks Niko Candido and David Estevez combined to go 22 of 36 for 235 yards passing.
Keon Smart had a 2-yard touchdown run for Colby in the first quarter and caught a 10-yard TD pass in the fourth.
TUFTS 31, BOWDOIN 13: Michael Berluti completed 21 of 31 passes for 336 yards and two touchdowns as the Jumbos (3-1) cruised to a win over the Polar Bears (1-3) in Medford, Massachusetts.
Berluti also rushed six times for 62 yards and a score for Tufts, which jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the second quarter. Tyler Johnson added 99 yards rushing and a touchdown, while Phil Lutz and Cade Moore both had more than 100 yards receiving.
Colton Fahey caught five passes for 150 yards for Bates. Andre Eden scored on a 2-yard run in the second quarter for the Bobcats and Eli D’Herete scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter.

MAINE 4, NEW HAMPSHIRE 0: Grace Heiting and Lilli Welcke each had a goal and an assist as the Black Bears (3-2, 2-0 Hockey East) beat the Wildcats (1-4, 0-1) in Orono.
Kennedy Little and Morgan Trimper also scored, while Brooklyn Oakes made 23 saves for the shutout.

BOWDOIN 1, TRINITY 0: Georgie Coetzer scored with assists from Faith Jennings and Caroline Higgins midway through the fourth quarter as the Polar Bears (7-3, 2-3 NESCAC) beat the Bantams (9-2, 5-2) in West Hartford, Connecticut.

Elizabeth Duquette opened the scoring for Roger Williams early in the second quarter, but Madi Robito pulled UNE even on a pass from Kate Lindmark 4:19 into the second half.
