DIXFIELD — Olivia Mastine took a feed from Aubrey Kachnovich and scored the game-winning goal in Spruce Mountain’s 2-1 victory over Dirigo (5-2) on Friday afternoon.
Kachnovich got assistance from Ryleigh Castonguay and scored to give Spruce Mountain a 1-0 lead in the first quarter.
Jayce Brophy tied the game in the third quarter before the teams played in double overtime to settle the matter. Winning goalie Mallory Clark made seven saves for Spruce (7-1).
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 3, LEWISTON 0: The Panthers (2-6) swept the Blue Devils (2-6) in three sets in North Yarmouth.
NYA won the first set 25-16, the second set 25-22 and the third set 25-23.
Charlotte McLatchy had 10 aces and nine digs for the Panthers. Sally Stronge added nine digs and two assists, Laurel Buehner had seven digs and two assists. Madilyn Onorato led NYA with six kills, and Sarah English had three.
Kaitlyn Shannon led Lewiston with nine aces and had six kills, while Kenzie Garcia was credited with six aces and three kills. Nadifo Heban had nine kills and Amino Juma finished with seven kills. Kassy Cornejo earned 17 assists in the losing effort.
In junior varsity action, NYA defeated Lewiston in two sets: 27-25, 25-13.
