AUBURN — Ava Apodaca scored in overtime to lift the St. Dominic Academy field hockey team to a 2-1 win over Greely on Monday.
Lorelei Bonney also scored for the Saints, and goalie Maia Cote made four saves. St. Dom’s improves to 5-0, while the Rangers fall to 0-3.
POLAND 8, TRAIP 0: Briyana Velilla scored three goals for the Knights (1-2) in their shutout win over the Rangers (0-3) in Poland.
Sydney Lacombe contributed two goals, while Nora Thornton, Breah Beaucage and Rianna St. Pierre each knocked in a goal of their own for Poland.
Traip goalie Charlotte Masse made 26 saves.
DIRIGO 7, TELSTAR 0: The Cougars (3-1) pulled away from the Rebels (0-4) in Bethel with two goals in each of the first three periods.
Emily Woods and Grace Averill each scored twice for Dirigo, while Grace Robbins, Jayce Brophy and Kara Woods added a goal apiece.
Telstar’s goalie Lindsy Stephenson made16 saves.
WINTHROP 5, HALL-DALE 1: Madeline Wagner scored two goals to lead the Ramblers to an MVC win over the Bulldogs in Farmingdale.
Lauryn Wood, Bella Littler and Izzy Folsom added goals for Winthrop (4-1).
Lizzy Bickford scored a goal for Hall-Dale (1-2-1), assisted by Torie Tibbetts. Goalie Jade Graham made 19 saves, as the Bulldog defense fought through 23 corners by Winthrop.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 6, BOOTHBAY 1: Led by Olivia Mastine, the Phoenix (4-1) took down the Seahawks (0-3) in Boothbay.
Mastine scored three goals and assisted on Spruce Mountain’s other three goals, which were scored by Adell Pease, Avery Bessey and Mary Hamblin.
Savannah Compare scored for the Seahawks. Cas Amaral made 14 saves for Boothbay.
Phoenix goalies Mallory Clark and Hannah Jewett combined for two saves.
BOYS SOCCER
MT. BLUE 0, SKOWHEGAN 0: The Cougars (1-2-1) and the River Hawks (0-2-1) finished a defensive battle in a scoreless draw in Skowhegan.
Ryan Donoghue saved 15 shots in net for Skowhegan, while on the other side Chase Ranger made seven saves for Mt. Blue.
WINTHROP 4, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN/DIRIGO 0: The Ramblers (1-1) jumped out to an early lead and shut out the Phoenix (1-3) in Winthrop.
Iker Penniman scored twice, Teddy Wagner and Evan Bilodeau both scored one goal in the shut out win. Gabe Corey assisted on three of Winthrop’s goals.
Dirigo/Spruce Mountain’s goalkeeper Nate Holland saved 10 shots, while Winthrop’s Jaxson August stopped three shots.
MT. ABRAM 9, OAK HILL 0: Charlie Pye paced the Roadrunners (3-1) to a decisive win over the Raiders (1-3) in Wales.
Pye finished the MVC matchup with four goals. Morgan Thibodeau, Jose Torres, Kaden Pillsbury, Harrison Thomas and Killian Pillsbury each added a goal for Mt. Abram.
Oak Hill goalkeeper Cade Fessenden made 14 saves, while Mt. Abram’s Trey Reed and Logan Dube split time in net, each saving a shot.
