FARMINGTON — After Leah Thibodeau tied the game in the fourth quarter, Adrianna Couture found the winner in double overtime for Edward Little in a 2-1 KVAC field hockey win over Mt. Blue on Tuesday.
Mt. Blue’s Bree Griffin scored first to take a 1-0 lead in the third quarter. Thibodeau scored in the fourth and then assisted on Couture’s goal in the second overtime period.
Kasey Smith made 10 saves for Edward Little (1-1) while Mt. Blue’s (1-1) Ella Mayhew saved eight.
GIRLS SOCCER
MT. BLUE 3, CAMDEN HILLS 1: KK Daggett scored a pair of goals as the Cougars (2-0) rallied past the Windjammers (1-1) in Farmington.
Daggett’s first goal came with four seconds left in the first half, and just over a minute after Camden Hills scored the game’s first goal on a connection from Leah Snyder to Britta Denny. Daggett then gave Mt. Blue the lead early in the second half off an assist from Emma Dunn.
Alissa Butterfield scored the Cougars’ third goal off of a Meren Zeliger corner kick.
Mt. Blue’s Caitlin Burke and Camden Hills’ Maddy Tohanczyn each made 12 saves for their teams.
MADISON 7, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN/DIRIGO 5: Raegan Cowan scored six goals and Addison Belanger had three assists to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference victory in Madison.
Ella Haynie also scored for the victors.
Abby St. Claire scored three goals to lead the Phoenix.
HALL-DALE 6, BUCKFIELD 0: Marie Benoit bagged a hat trick to lead the Bulldogs past the Bucks in Farmingdale.
Sierra Gibbons had two goals and an assist for Hall-Dale (2-0), and Hayden Madore added one goal and two assists. The Bulldogs also got two assists from Rita Benoit and one assist from Addison Tinkham.
Kianna Finnegan made 18 saves for Buckfield, which fell to 0-2.
LAKE REGION 1, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Margo Tremblay was the lone goal scorer for the Lakers (2-0) in their win over the Patriots (0-2) in Gray.
Tremblay scored in the second half to break the tie.
Lake Region’s Emily Ross made eight saves in net while Gray-New Gloucester’s Isa Ross saved five.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 2, MT. ABRAM 1: The Falcons (1-1) scored twice in the first half and held on to beat the Roadrunners (0-1) in Rumford.
Emma Clukey and Brooke Chase scored for Mountain Valley. Clukey scored off Emma Koch’s deflected corner kick and Chase finished off a feed from Layce Boucher.
Autumn Pulk scored for Mt. Abram to tie the game 1-1.
TRAIP ACADEMY 3, ST. DOMINIC 2: Keira Alessi scored two goals, including the winner in the second half, as the Rangers (1-0) rallied past the Saints (0-2) at Kittery.
Quinn McPherson also had a goal in the second half for Traip, which trailed 2-1 at the break.
Avery Gravel and Nina Brown scored for St. Dom’s.
Lily Stuart of Traip stopped seven shots. Anna Theriault had 14 saves for the Saints.
WELLS 2, POLAND 0: Caitlin Rooney scored a pair of goals as the Warriors (2-0) blanked the Knights (0-2) in Poland.
BOYS SOCCER
SACOPEE VALLEY 5, POLAND 2: Chris Root scored twice and added three assists for Sacopee Valley (1-1), which used a three-goal second half to defeat the Knights (0-2) in Poland.
Carter Boulanger, Jonah Naratil and Grady Allen also scored for the Hawks. Talen Langevin and Drew Sayler answered with first-half goals for Poland.
Ryan Leighton of Sacopee and Sam Paladino of the Knights made eight saves each.
LEWISTON 5, BANGOR 2: Shafi Ibrahim and Mohamed Gabow paced the Blue Devils (1-1) in their road win over the Rams (1-1) in Bangor.
Ibrahim and Gabow each two goals, and Jacinto Mavinga added a fifth for Lewiston. Goalie Payson Goyette stopped five shots.
Bangor’s goals were scored by Sam Ahola and Zach Shaw.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 6, LAKE REGION 1: Ben Cobb finished with four goals and an assist as the Patriots (2-0) beat the Lakers (0-2) in Gray.
Aidan Hebert and Max Kenney each had one goal for Gray-New Gloucester, with Hebert adding two assists.
Jacob Chadbourne scored Lake Region’s goal.
LINCOLN 1, LEAVITT 0: EJ Hunt scored from Pablo Jimenez Duran in the first half and the Eagles (2-0) made that early lead stick in a shutout win over the Hornets (0-2) in Newcastle.
Cody Cleaveland stopped all five shots he faced to earn the shutout in the Lincoln Academy net.
Vanya Bezhenar made 13 saves for Leavitt.
