PARIS — Paris Autobarn Auto Sales & Service, which specialized in selling and servicing electric vehicles and hybrids, announced on social media and its website Tuesday that it has closed “for the foreseeable future.”
Tony Giambro is listed as the owner of the company, but attempts to reach him by phone, email and social media have so far been unsuccessful.
The message posted online and on social media reads in part, “We are not able to continue normal operations due to our current manager’s decision to retire and a death in the owner’s family. Our last day in operation will be today, August 23, 2022.” It said all attempts to keep the business open, including selling to the employees, had failed.
Paris Autobarn specialized in the service and sales of electric vehicles and hybrids exclusively, making it one of the few electric vehicle and hybrid service facilities available in the area.
The company serviced all Tesla models, Honda, Subaru, Toyota and Nissan electric and hybrid vehicles in South Paris, Norway, Oxford, Otisfield, Hebron, Buckfield, Minot, and the surrounding areas, according to the company website.
An article in Green & Healthy Maine in 2018, referred to Paris Autobarn as the greenest service station in New England.
How the closure will affect customers is unknown. Customers were directed to send a letter to the owner via the United States Postal Service.
A final plea for any interested buyer in the business was in the social media posting announcing the closure.
