I’ve read some letters regarding Laurel Libby’s qualifications for the position of state representative.
She’s the one who famously declared that “this is war”— not on the coronavirus but on the state vaccination mandate for healthcare workers.
Earlier, she announced that she would be leaving the state if a mandate for vaccinating school-aged children was approved, which it was. She didn’t leave.
When Ms. Libby came to our door, my spouse told her that the changes to Auburn’s zoning laws were his primary concern at the moment, not the tax cuts that seem to be her solution to everything, even when those cuts just move the costs somewhere else. She mailed us an application for the property tax stabilization for seniors, which would freeze our tax — at the new, increased rate.
Apparently, the right hand didn’t think about what the left hand might do. We won’t be voting for her.
