The Maine Department of Labor’s CareerCenters, together with their partners, offer many services to help people find employment or upgrade skills, and help employers find qualified workers.

CareerCenter Services are now available, in person, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St. in Auburn. A career consultant will be at the library on Thursdays to assist with things such as the exploration of career directions, resume and cover letter writing, effective interviewing skills, job search essentials, and/or navigating the hiring process for individuals with a criminal history, according to a news release from the library.

No appointment is necessary; customers will be seen on a drop in, first come-first serve basis. Check in at the second floor reference desk upon arrival.

During August, consultants plan to be at library from 1 to 3 p.m.  Thursdays, Aug. 11, 18 and 25.

For schedule updates, visit auburnpubliclibrary.org. Customers also can call the reference desk at 207-333-6640, ext. 4.

The CareerCenter also offers a Career Exploration Workshop. It is an extensive and informative three-day workshop offered to vocational rehabilitation clients to explore a variety of career paths and research the required skills needed for those careers.
