FARMINGTON — Personal support specialist training will be offered this summer at Franklin County Adult Education at little or no cost to enrollees. Participants can learn the basics of the healthcare field and help neighbors and friends at the same time.
This 50-hour course will cover how to provide daily living care to older adults or individuals with disabilities. Enrollees might be the difference between someone getting to stay in their home. Other options for employment include local care facilities, according to a news release from the adult education office.
Adult education will provide interviews with local organizations that have immediate openings. This can be a part-time or full-time position. Individuals must be 17 or older, pass a state background check, have updated vaccinations including COVID. No high school diploma required.
Class starts Monday, Aug. 1, and will be held for two weeks at 129 Seamon Road, Suite A.
To enroll and for more information, call the adult education office at 207-778-3460.
