BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Orioles rolled to their eighth straight victory Sunday, using successive four-run innings and three RBI by Ramón Urías to beat the road-weary Los Angeles Angels 9-5.
Baltimore fell behind 2-0 before storming back to complete a 7-0 homestand and its first four-game sweep of the Angels since 2003. The Orioles had not won eight consecutive games in a season since April 22 to May 1, 2005, though they won 12 straight across two seasons in late 2015 and early 2016.
Urías singled in two runs during a four-run fourth and added an RBI single in the fifth to make it 8-2.
Baltimore (43-44) moved with one game of .500 for the first time since it was 0-1.
WHITE SOX 4, TIGERS 2: Pinch-hitter A.J. Pollock hit a tiebreaking two-out RBI single in the eighth inning and Chicago rallied to win at home for its second straight win.
Pollock’s hit got past the reach of second baseman Jonathan Schoop to score Luis Robert from second and put Chicago ahead 3-2. Eloy Jiménez followed with an RBI single to make it 4-2. Both hits were off reliever Gregory Soto.
ROYALS 5, GUARDIANS 1: Zack Greinke pitched five scoreless innings of three-hit ball and Kansas City won at home.
A day after the Guardians got a season-high 23 hits in a 13-1 romp, Greinke (3-5) and four relievers combined on a five-hitter.
Greinke struck out five and walked one in his 222nd career win.
ASTROS 6, ATHLETICS 1: Korey Lee got his first three hits in the major leagues and drove in three runs, leading Jake Odorizzi and Houston to a win in Oakland, California.
All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker hit his 17th home run, helping the first-place Astros to their 11th victory in 13 games.
MARINERS 6, BLUE JAYS 5: Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a throw bust through the webbing of his glove and Seattle took advantage for its eighth straight win, beating visiting Toronto two home runs by Carlos Santana.
A day after Santana hit a two-run homer in the seventh inning for a 2-1 win, he connected for a go-ahead, two-run drive in the eighth. The Mariners are 16-3 for their best 19-game stretch since 2003.
Blue Jays starter Max Castillo was pulled in the fifth with a 4-1 lead after giving up a pair of one-out singles, and reliever David Phelps walked Justin Upton to load the bases.
Sam Haggerty then grounded back to Phelps, who threw home to start what appeared to be an easy inning-ending double play. But catcher Gabriel Moreno’s throw broke through Guerrero’s first baseman’s mitt, allowing a run to score.
TWINS 6, RANGERS 5: Ryan Jeffers hit a tiebreaking home run in the sixth inning, and Minnesota won in Arlington, Texas, to avoid a three-game sweep.
Jeffers, batting ninth in the order, hit a run-scoring single in the second and put the Twins ahead 5-4 with a drive off Brock Burke (4-2). Jeffers was 5 for 8 in the series with four RBIs and two of his seven homers this season.

DODGERS 11, CUBS 9: Freddie Freeman went 4 for 5 with a homer and two RBI, and Los Angeles rallied from a pair of early five-run deficits to complete a stellar homestand with its seventh consecutive victory.
Trea Turner and Will Smith also drove in two runs apiece as the NL-leading Dodgers finished 10-1 on a homestand for the first time since 1980. Gavin Lux reached base four times while Los Angeles surged from behind to win its final home game before hosting Dodger Stadium’s first All-Star Game in 42 years.
With a seventh straight win over the Cubs, the Dodgers swept their season series with Chicago for the first time in the venerable NL franchises’ history. Los Angeles beat the Cubs for the 10th straight time overall, matching the longest winning streak in this rivalry since 1947, and swept a four-game series with Chicago at Chavez Ravine for the first time since 1965.
MARLINS 2, METS 0: Sandy Alcantara extended his shutout streak to 19 innings and pinch-runner Billy Hamilton scored on a throwing error by catcher Tomás Nido in the 10th, sending Miami to a win in New York.
Luke Williams added an RBI single for the Marlins, who salvaged a four-game split with the NL East leaders. Tanner Scott struck out Francisco Lindor with runners at the corners for his 12th save.
New York begins a three-game series at second-place Atlanta on Monday night.
Alcantara, likely to be selected to the NL All-Star team later Sunday, allowed six hits in seven innings and lowered his ERA to 1.73. He struck out four and walked one.

The defending World Series champion Braves have won six of seven and improved to 29-8 since June 1, the best record in the majors in that span. They are 1½ games behind the NL East-leading New York Mets and open a three-game series against them Monday night in Atlanta.

Kyle Schwarber hit his NL-leading 28th homer for the Phillies, who had won three in a row.
GIANTS 12, PADRES 0: Alex Wood took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, and Wilmer Flores had two home runs among his four hits and four RBI as San Francisco easily won on the road.
The Giants, who have been scuffling for three weeks, dominated the Padres in taking the final two of the four-game series. Wood’s brilliant effort Sunday followed Carlos Rodón’s dominant performance Saturday, when he struck out 12 in a three-hitter.
ROCKIES 3, DIAMONDBACKS 2: Connor Joe drove in the go-ahead run with a two-out single off All-Star Joe Mantiply in the seventh inning, and Colorado rallied to beat Arizona and take three of four from the Diamondbacks for a rare road series win.

NOTES
RAYS: Shortstop Wander Franco was put on the 10-day injured list by the Tampa Bay Rays, one day after he left the game against the Cincinnati Reds with what the team called right wrist discomfort.
Franco left Saturday’s game after fouling off a 100.2 mph Hunter Greene pitch before striking out. Franco is to be examined by Dr. Douglas Carlan on Monday in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Tampa Bay also placed centerfielder Kevin Kiermaier on the 10-day IL with left hip inflammation and left-hander Jeffrey Springs on the 15-day IL with right lower leg tightness, a move retroactive to Thursday. The Rays optioned right-hander Calvin Faucher to Triple-A Durham.
METS: New York placed catcher James McCann on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain.
The 32-year old was injured while reaching to apply a tag in the sixth inning of New York’s extra-inning victory over the Miami Marlins on Saturday.
It is the second stint on the injured list this season for the Mets catcher. McCann required surgery for his broken left hamate bone and spent six weeks on the injured list. He was reinstated on June 24 and started eight games. New York Manager Buck Showalter indicated that McCann was expected to be out “longer than 10 days.”
ASTROS: Slugger Yordan Álvarez flew back to Houston for treatment after being placed on the 10-day injured list because of a right hand injury that has gotten worse, according to Manager Dusty Baker.
Álvarez originally hurt his hand June 18 against the Chicago White Sox and has been dealing with soreness and inflammation since then. The Astros expect him to miss the next two series and possibly return after the All-Star break.
Álvarez has 26 home runs this season and leads the American League with a .653 slugging percentage and an OPS of 1.058.
BRAVES: Atlanta acquired veteran second baseman Robinson Canó in a minor league deal for cash considerations with the San Diego Padres.
Canó, 39, hit a combined .149 with one homer and four RBIs in 74 at-bats for the Padres and New York Mets this season. He has batted .333 with three homers and 20 RBIs in 96 at-bats for Triple-A El Paso since the Padres released him and re-signed him to a minor-league deal last month.
