Isaiah Harris qualified for the men’s 800-meter run semifinals at the United States Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, Thursday.
Harris finished first in Heat 3, edging Jonah Koech, with a time of 1 minute, 47.10 seconds.
Harris ran 400-meter splits of 52.63 and then 54.47.
The Lewiston native’s time was fifth-fastest over the four heats. The top three from each heat advanced to Friday’s semifinals, along with the next four fastest times. Donavan Brazier ran the fastest time of the day, finishing in 1:46.49.
Friday’s semifinals are scheduled for 10:46 p.m. Eastern Time.
