A field of 40 cars — out of 43 entries — took the green flag Sunday afternoon at Oxford Plains Speedway, and after 150 laps, Berwick native Joey Doiron crossed the finish line first in a Pro All Stars Series Super Late Model feature.

Doiron, who has shown plenty of speed at Oxford Plains in recent years in his No. 21 car, held off 2020 Oxford 250 champion Johnny Clark for the win. Turner native Kyle DeSouza, who won a weekly SLM feature at Oxford Plains earlier this season, rounded out the podium with a third-place finish.

In other action at the track Sunday, Ryan Ripley won the 40-lap PASS Mods race, besting Zach Bowie and Oxford Championship Series Mods weekly division points leader Shawn Knight.

Jordan Russell edged Alex Smith in a special feature the Oxford Plains Limiteds division.

Sunday was the third day of racing in a row at Oxford Plains Speedway.

The busy weekend began Friday night with Oxford Acceleration Series action. Winners included: Breeanna Spaulding (Ladies), David Cook (Rebels), Sam Wardwell (Sport Trucks), Abigail Wardwell (Jr. Rookies), William Barker (Cruisers) and Will Dunphy (Outlaws).

Saturday featured Oxford Championship Series divisions competion.

Rowland Robinson Jr., in a precursor to a fourth-place finish in Sunday’s PASS race, won Saturday’s SLM feature. Calvin Rose Jr. and former track champ Tim Brackett rounded out the podium.

Brandon Varney beat out Garrett Lamb and Dan Brown in PASS Mods.

The Street Stocks and Figure 8s each had double features after those features were rained out the week before. Street Stock feature winners Saturday were Tyson Jordan and Cam Childs. Mark Turner and Jeff Heaward captured the Figure 8s features.

Other winners included Charlie Young, in a Thunder Stocks feature that saw another biggest-ever field of five cars in the first-year division; Evan Roy (Rookies); Cam Richards (Mad Bombers); and Frank Wear (Limiteds).

WISCASSET WINNERS

Adam Chadbourne added to his Wiscasset Speedway checkered flag collection Saturday, winning his 65th career feature at the track with a victory in the Modifieds division.

Another frequent visitor to victory lane, Josh St. Clair, won in a fourth different division this season by capturing the Late Model Sportsman feature.

Nicole Brown collected her first career victory in Roadrunners.

Zach Audet (Outlaw Mini) and Mac Hannan Jr. (Strictly Streets) also picked up feature wins.

MCKENNEDY MAKES NESS HISTORY

The third time was the charm for the first-year New England Supermodified Series, which is run by PASS. The NESS series held its inaugural event Friday at Thunder Road Speedbowl in Barre, Vermont, after twice having to postpone its debut earlier this season.

Joe McKennedy earned the distinction of being the series’ first-ever winner, topping the eight-car field in the 75-lap feature. Anthony Nocella and Rob Summers rounded out the podium.
