Oxford Federal Credit Union in Norway, together with McLaughlin Garden & Homestead in South Paris, have partnered to present their Thursday Night in the Garden event series for this summer.
“We are very excited about this opportunity to partner with McLaughlin Garden,” said Lisa Marston, OFCU’s marketing director, in a news release from the credit union. “OFCU is really focusing on building community connections, and this relationship is a good step in that direction…and it’s a nice coincidence that our tagline is ‘let’s grow together,’” in a news release from the credit union.
Thursday Night in the Garden is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 16, at 97 Main St. in South Paris, with a presentation on carnivorous plants by head gardener, Corey Kotfila.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering with OFCU to enhance our community offerings. With OFCU’s sponsorship, we can continue to offer this series of diverse summer evening events for free,” said Karla Horecky, managing director of McLaughlin Gardens. “We will also be able to help offset the cost of materials for the artists and presenters who donate their time and talent for our guests.”
The two-acre garden is under the stewardship of the non-profit McLaughlin Foundation. This year marks its 25th year of working to preserve the historic home, barn and garden for the public.
From May to October, the garden is open to guests daily from dawn to dusk. The gift shop, plant sale and historic barn and homestead are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
