Kristen Cloutier worked tirelessly as Lewiston city councilor and mayor, and now state legislator, to represent her constituents fairly, advocate for policies sustaining families and garnering resources for sustainable economic development and healthy communities.
Serving on the Appropriations and Finance, Transportation Study, and Taxation committees, Kristen led efforts toward solutions addressing immediate needs — tax credits for family caregivers, job skill and language enrichment at businesses wishing to hire immigrant workers — and longer-term issues like the state transportation system and the status of racial and Indigenous populations.
Kristen has been honored for her community commitments: deepening the potential of young people as a L-A College Community Advisory Board member, managing students’ problem-solving collaborations as assistant director at Bates’ Harward Center for Community Partnerships, and mentoring emerging leaders through the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center at the University of Maine.
Maine’s future needs Kristen Cloutier in the Maine House of Representatives, District 94.
