BETHEL — Eli Wager scored the game-winning run on a sacrifice fly from Maddox Cusumano in the top of the eighth inning to send 17th-seeded Boothbay/Wiscasset past 16th-seeded Telstar 5-4 in a Class C South baseball play-in game Saturday.

The Seahawks (3-14) next face No. 1 Lisbon in the round of 16.

Boothbay/Wiscasset scored a run in the first, two more in the second inning and one in the seventh inning to stake itself to a 4-0 lead.

The Rebels (3-14) rallied in the seventh inning with four runs. Cameron Palmer collected a two-run double in the inning while Evan Leach drove in another run. Colby Hastings also hit a double for the Rebels.

Cusumano led Boothbay/Wiscasset with two RBIs and three hits. Finn Harkins collected two singles and an RBI. Jordan Carrier also notched an RBI for the Seahawks.

Gryffin Kristan started for Boothbay, going six innings, striking out nine and allowing three runs on four hits. Liam Thomas earned the win in relief, going two innings, striking out three, while allowing a run on two hits.
