The Western Maine Art Group’s Artist of the Month in June is Connie Ladd-McVey. Her work will be featured at the Main Street Gallery in Norway. The artist will host a First Friday Reception from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, June 3.
Retiring after forty years in commercial art, and moving to Auburn, she continued expanding her art studio time to include more landscape drawing and painting Maine’s many scenic vista. She has been working for many years in developing her individual style of painting that fits her interpretation of each art piece. While living in Maine, she finished her education with a BFA degree from USM-Gorham in 2012. Presently she enjoys working in her Pond Lily Art Studio, and exhibiting her art work at the Main Street Art Gallery and at Greenwood Art Gallery. She had taught several art classes as an adjunct at CMCC. During the fall and summer seasons she exhibits in local art fairs and shows.
The Main Street Gallery is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday. Main Street Gallery is located at 426 Main St., Norway.
