ROCKPORT — Drew Smith was formidable on the mound and at the plate in Edward Little’s 13-4 baseball victory over  Camden Hills on Friday.

Smith struck out nine in six innings to earn the win. He also had three hits and drove in three runs. Aiden Gonzalez and Kamden Masselli each hit a double for the Red Eddies (5-5), who opened an 8-0 lead in the first three innings.

Ben Tohancyn drove in two runs for the Windjammers (4-4).

DIRIGO 24, CARRABEC 2: A 14-run first inning kick-started the Cougars’ (4-4) five-inning victory over the Cobras (1-6) in Dixfield.

Dirigo tallied 16 hits, led by three apiece by Trenton Hutchinson (double, five runs, two RBIs) and Trent Holman (double, two runs, two RBIs). Dakota Tompkins (three runs), Wyatt Hamner (two runs, two RBIs) and Dylen Packard (two runs, two RBIs) each had two hits. Curtis Errington scored a team-high five runs.

Tompkins also had five strikeouts in three innings on the mound. Austin Adams pitched the final two innings and fanned three batters.

MARANACOOK 10, ST. DOMINIC 0 (5 INNINGS): The Black Bears (9-2) stayed in the win-column with a mercy-rule victory over the Saints (4-6) in Readfield.

At the plate, Maranacook got a double, single and RBI from Tyler Hreben, two singles and two RBIs from Alex Trafton, two singles each from Brayden St. Pierre, Luke McLaughlin and Robbie Vivenzio (RBI) and a double from Kody Goucher.

Nick Florek pitched a three-hit shutout for Maranacook. Miles Frennette was the losing pitcher for St. Dominic.

MONMOUTH 13, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 3: Manny Calder’s big offensive performance catapulted the Mustangs (7-2) over the Phoenix (5-4) in Monmouth.

Calder hit a single, double and a triple while notching five RBIs in Monmouth’s big win on Friday. Hayden Fletcher also tallied three hits. On the mound, Isaac Olivera earned the win.

Spruce Mountain’s Lucas Towers and Jayden Perreault both earned doubles.

LISBON 11, WINTHROP 0 (5 INNINGS): The Greyhounds (8-0) one-hit the Ramblers (7-3) in Lisbon.

Hunter Brissette pitched 4 2/3 innings, striking out nine and allowing only a single to Winthrop’s Brayden Stubbert.

Caleb Phillips and Riley Turner each had three hits and Levi Tibbetts notched a double for the Greyhounds.

SOFTBALL
DIRIGO 5, CARRABEC 3: Cougars (4-4) pitcher Grace Robbins earned the win, doubled, tripled, drove in two runs and scored two in the victory over the Cobras in Dixfield.

Robbins tossed a complete game, striking out eight and allowing five hits while not walking any batters in seven innings.

Five of Dirigo’s hits went for extra bases. Along with Robbins, Alyvia Perrault and Kallie Errington also tripled, and Abby Stevens tripled. The Cougars broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the fifth inning.

MT. ABRAM 4, BUCKFIELD 1: Adrianna Stinchfield struck out 10 batters and the Roadrunners’ (2-6) offense produced enough to take down the the Bucks (2-7) in Salem.

Buckfield scored in the top of the first inning then was held scoreless by Stinchfield for the next six innings. The Roadrunners scored one run in third, one in the fourth and two in the fifth.

Kaydence Dunn led Mt. Abram’s offense with two singles, and Liv Roderick, Savannah Davis and Aiyanna Savage each had one.

Stinchfield out-dueled Buckfield’s Emma Stevens-Belanger, who struck out eight in six innings. She also had a double. Cora Brewster tallied a team-high two hits, while Cori Merrill and Addison Stevens-Belanger had one apiece.

MADISON 17, TELSTAR 1: Brooke Mckenney pitched a one-hitter and had four of the Bulldogs’ (9-1) 17 hits in a five-inning win over the Rebels (5-5) in Bethel.

Mckenney struck out eight batters and only walked one.

Arabel Linkletter and Landyn Landry hit triples for Madison, while Mckenney, Lillian Levesque, Raegan Cowen and Abigail Linkletter each doubled.

Maylyn Hastings had Telstar’s hit.

MARANACOOK 6, ST. DOMINIC 5 (8 INNINGS): The Black Bears (9-1) earned a walk-off win to hand the Saints (9-1) their first loss of the season in Readfield.

Alexis Michaud went the distance for Maranacook to earn the win. At the plate, the Black Bears got a double and three singles from Shylah Woodford, three doubles and an RBI from Allie LaBelle, a double, single and RBI from Esme Jamison and a trible from Kaleigh Kubicki.

Kathleen Dean took the loss for St. Dominic. Cami Casserly had multiple hits for the Saints in the defeat.

MONMOUTH 8, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: The Mustangs (8-0) closed out an unbeaten first half of the regular season by topping the Phoenix (2-6) in Hallowell.

Brooklyn Federico got her eighth win of the year for Monmouth. She also doubled for the Mustangs as Madi Herr and Kate Laliberte had two singles each.

Jaydn Pingree took the loss for Spruce Mountain. Pingree added a triple at the plate for the Phoenix.

POLAND 16, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: The Knights (9-0) opened with 10 runs in the bottom of the first and defeated the Seagulls (2-8) in five innings at Poland.

Atlantis Martin recorded a double and two singles, Emma Gagne hit a triple and a double, and Khloe O’Leary, Alyssa Hart and Gabbi Bolduc also had two hits apiece.

EDWARD LITTLE 8, CAMDEN HILLS 5 (9 INNINGS): Amanda Raymond singled and scored the go-ahead run on Rachel Penny’s single in the ninth inning as the Red Eddies beat the Windjammers (0-8) in Rockport.

Maddy Scott and Erin Cowie also scored in the ninth inning.

Tiana Avila had three hits, including a double, and scored a run for Edward Little.

Alyssa Bland recorded two hits and scored two runs for the Windjammers.

Leah Thibodeau and Maddy Scott combined to allow eight hits and had four strikeouts in the circle for the Eddies.

Olivia Brown and Ciccia Stovie of Camden Hills combined for four strikeouts.

LEAVITT 5, MESSALONSKEE 0: Hailey Turcotte homered for the Hornets (6-4) in the shutout win over the Eagles (3-6) in Oakland.

Leavitt scored three runs in the third and added two runs in the top of the sixth.

Elise McDonald had two singles for Messalonskee.

BOYS LACROSSE
CAPE ELIZABETH 19, LEWISTON 4: Quinn Gordon’s four goals paced the Capers (7-1) in a road win over the Blue Devils (3-5) in Lewiston.

Caden Lee, Tiernan Lathrop and Colin Campbell each added three goals and Sam Cochran contributed two for Cape Elizabeth. Dimitri Coupe, Andrew Trachimowicz Jack Gorman and Nicholas Boudreau also scored.

Sophomore Daven Langelier led Lewiston’s offense with two goals. Liam Hutchinson and Cody Dionne scored one goal each. Hutchinson also had two assists, while Sam Couirtemanche set up one goal.
