PITTSFIELD — St. Dom’s scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to earn a 6-5 softball win over MCI 6-5 on Thursday.
With the scored tied 5-5 in the top-half of the seventh inning, Kathleen Dean sprinted home on a wild pitch to give the unbeaten Saints (9-0) their first lead of the contest.
Bella Perryman hit a two-run home run for St. Dom’s in the fifth inning to tie the game at 5-5.
From the circle, Dean earned the victory, giving up three hits and striking out 10 batters.
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 17, TRAIP 1: Maisie Lerrette of the Patriots (4-7) allowed only two hits against the Rangers (0-11) in a big win in Gray.
Lerrette also drove in four runs to help Gray-New Gloucester breeze by Traip in just five innings. Morgan Curtis added two RBIs for the Patriots.
GIRLS LACROSSE
LEWISTON 9, MT. ARARAT 8: Lilly Gish scored late in the first overtime to give the Blue Devils (2-5) a clutch win over the Eagles (5-3) in Lewiston.
Gish, Ceci Miller, Mya Grant and Kristen Lachance each scored two goals for Lewiston. Leah Dube also scored. Rebecca Lussier and Leah Landry each had an assist.
Mt. Ararat’s Elsa Daulerio and Madison Kinney scored three goals apiece. Evelyn Goudreau and Grace Phillps also had goals. Kinney had two assists, while Daulerio had one.
BASEBALL
GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 16, TRAIP 0: Zach Winchester hit a grand slam and finished with five RBIs as the Patriots (4-7) beat the Rangers (0-10) in a five-inning game at Gray.
Abe Bouchard also belted a home run. Ian Libby added two RBIs and pitched a two-hitter while striking out 10.
