Husson College softball senior Meagan Gosselin — a Lewiston graduate — earned a pair of postseason honors from the North Atlantic Conference.
Gosselin collected All-NAC East Division second team honors, having batted .329 on the year with 27 hits, six doubles, two triples and 13 RBI’s. Additionally, Gosselin scored 17 runs with a .382 on-base percentage splitting the season both as a catcher and designated player.
Gosselin was also named to the NAC’s All-Tournament for the conference champion Eagles, who clinched a spot in the NCAA Division III tournament.
TWO UMF PLAYERS EARN HONORS: The University of Maine at Farmington’s Christa Allen was named to the All-North Atlantic Conference team when the conference’s postseason honors list for softball was announced.
Allen was a Second Team All-NAC honoree out of the conference’s East Division.
Allen finished her rookie season with a team-leading .342 batting average while playing in all 28 games for the Beavers in 2022, with 27 hits over 79 at bats. Teammate and sophomore Olivia Paradis of Saco was named to the Sportsmanship Team.
USM’S MERRILL COPS LITTLE EAST HONOR: The University of Southern Maine’s Lauren Merrill, of Bethel, was named to the Little East second team. At the plate, Merrill hit a solid .299 (26-for-87) with seven runs scored and 12 RBI.
WOMEN’S LACROSSE
USM’S RACINE HONORED: In her first season starting in goal for the Huskies, Cece Racine set a new program record after posting a .558 save percentage to earn being named to the Little East’s all-conference first team. Racine, a Lewiston grad, allowed just 8.20 goals per game and made 154 saves on the season.
