Representatives from the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society plan to present a Foster 101 Workshop, information about fostering and how to get involved, at 5 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.

According to a news release from the library, foster homes virtually expand the walls of the shelter, allowing the society to take in far more animals than it can accommodate within the confines of the shelter.

Fosters care for shelter animals in their home to help clear space in the shelter and get them ready for adoption. Those interested in fostering, or simply curious about how fostering helps, are encouraged to attend the program.

This program will take place in the Androscoggin Community Room.
