Jeri Maurer, president of the Stanton Bird Club, plans to give a Zoom talk, “Welcome Back … Here Come the Birds!,” from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 12, hosted by Auburn Public Library.

Spring is the time to welcome back migratory birds as they use this region for breeding or as part of a flyway as they head further north for the season, according to a news release from the library.

Maurer will focus on some of the birds that people may see and hear as you step outside.

The club has been engaged in conservation work and nature education for adults and children for more than 100 years.

It will soon be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Thorncrag Nature Sanctuary, a 450-acre preserve located in Lewiston.

Registration is required. To register, visit the events page at auburnpubliclibrary.org, or email dwallace@auburnpubliclibrary.org.

Registrants will be emailed the Zoom link on May 12, the day of the program.
