After a mostly sunny and very dry Monday, a spring storm is expected to bring rain, wind and some snow Tuesday.
The storm will bring mostly rain and wind, but several inches of wet snow is possible in the mountains. Inland areas could see a coating to 2 inches before changing to rain. Mountain areas are forecast to receive the most snow, with upwards of 8 inches possible in the highest peaks.
A few power outages are possible, according to the National Weather Service.
Precipitation will begin before sunrise Tuesday, and it will likely start as a period of snow for most, except for right along the coast. Storm warnings are in effect along the coast, and some coastal flooding is possible, according to the NWS. Winds may gust up to 50 mph — mostly along the coast.
Low elevation and coastal snow will quickly change to rain Tuesday morning, with highs reaching the 40s to near 50 in the afternoon.
After the storm moves out Tuesday evening, we’ll see improving weather for Wednesday with clearing skies and only a slight chance of a lingering shower.
A weakening system approaches Thursday, bringing cooler temps and cloudy skies, as well as the chance for a sprinkle or two.
Friday looks to be the warmest day this week with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 50s to low 60s.
This weekend looks mild, with highs in the 50s and partly cloudy skies.
