Rep. Laurel Libby spoke March 29 to the House concerning LD 1978, a bill to support college loan forgiveness for home ownership.
Rep. Libby spoke of sacrifices her family made as she and her husband pursued educational goals that ultimately served to better their family. Those goals were achieved through fiscal responsibility (a.k.a. frugality), not a government handout.
We live in an age of entitlement and lack of personal accountability. We need Rep. Libby in Augusta, and we need more people like her.
It’s time the “silent majority,” who live responsibly, drown out the cries of “free money.”
Nothing is ever free. Our current economic situation shows the devastating effects of what the Democrats’ irresponsible fiscal policies have done to our state and nation.
Not only should we follow Rep. Libby’s light, but it’s time we find others who shine like she does.
