Members of the organization have collected over 350 long gowns and over 200 short gowns that will be available during the 9th annual Fairy Godmother Prom Gown Giveaway on Saturday. “Everything from princess gowns to the little black dress,” Jordan, the event chairperson, said. “Not everyone can afford gowns for their prom.” Any student can visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to select a free gown. Accessories such as shoes, scarves and clutches will also be available. The gown giveaway will be the first event at the Woman’s Literary Union since COVID-19 hit Maine in 2020.
