Hedrich, a special education teacher, had just arrived at the school by limousine after being nominated for a Golden Apple Award. Hedrich’s students waited for her to arrive and then climbed in to see what the inside of a limousine was like. “I had no idea I was even nominated. It’s very humbling,” said the first-year teacher. “I worked in health care for 31 years and always wanted to be a teacher but did not have the time or money to go back to school. Now I am here at Farwell and I love it.” The Golden Apple Award is given out by 107.5 Frank radio station to recognize outstanding teachers.
