The Annual Spring Dance Concert presented by Lakeside Dance Academy will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9, at the RFA Lakeside Theater in Rangeley. There will be a reception to celebrate the dancers in the theater lobby after the concert each night.
It will be an evening showcasing the work of over 35 dancers of all ages and is sponsored by the Rangeley Friends of the Arts. Seniors Ella Shaffer and Emmarae MacFawn will be presenting their Senior Solos. The theme for the evening is “A Sense of Place.”
Dancers ranging in ability from beginner to advanced will perform in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and en Pointe. In the Advanced level, the dancers include: Averie Flewelling, Emmarae MacFawn, Stella MacFawn, Liz Robare, Ella Shaffer and Angelica Woodward. The Intermediate level includes Michelle Cerminara, Paisley Fredette, Mya Gellman, Joslyn Kennett, Addie Kneiser, Mia Lynch, Sarah Kate Murphy, Emma Pepin, Aliyah Reinholt, Lily Stevens, Morghan Webber and Harper Wright. The Beginner level includes Pippa Farrar, Camille Harding, Brooke Huddleston, Abby Kay, Addyson Kennedy, Samantha Landry, Isabella Thomas, Skyler Thompson, Ruby Willauer, and Charlotte Wright. The pre-school Creative Movement class includes the youngest dancers: Leena Cowper, Clara Gurney, Emma Haley, Clair Hayden, Seamus Loud, Harley Mendonca, Lydia O’Neil and Ellie Phadungchai.
The Lakeside Dance Academy and the Rangeley Friends of the Arts worked together to receive a grant from the Gordon A. Ramlose Foundation to purchase ten “dance chairs” which will be featured in two different dances highlighting chair technique.
The Lakeside Dance Academy has been providing dance instruction in the Rangeley Region since 1986 under the Artistic Direction of Pam Ellis. Lily Webber, a graduate of the Academy, is the instructor of the Creative Movement class.
Admission is $7 for adults and $3 for students 7-18. Children 6 and under are free. Tickets are available at the door, doors open at 6 p.m. The RFA Lakeside Theater is located on Main St., Rangeley. For more information, call Pam Ellis, Artistic Director, at 207-592-7427.
