Last week’s Mystery Photo was apparently not a difficult one, as every entrant correctly identified it as Olsen Student Center at the University of Maine in Farmington. Many were former students, including our winner, Mary Jane Leighton, who wrote, “When I was growing up I used to ride my bike on the pathways there. I graduated from UMF. Later, my husband worked for Aramark, the food service company that did the meals at UMF, and the cafeteria is housed in the student center.” Leighton was chosen in a random drawing from all the correct answers and will receive a $20 Hannaford Supermarket gift card.
Mystery Photo update: The location of our March 13 Mystery Photo, featuring a cupola, was correctly identified as being between Lowe’s and Walmart in Auburn. However, despite our research, which included several people certain the cupola came from Whiteholm Farm, on land where the stores now stand, we were wrong. The cupola was from the Frank Winter farm, which was located approximately where the roundabout is at the entrance to Walmart and Lowe’s from Turner Street, across from Buffalo Wild Wings.
