We lost one of our own this week. Carri Frechette passed away and we are gutted.

Carri always had a smile for everyone. She was kind and thoughtful always willing to lend a (well manicured) helping hand, to go the extra mile.

Reading the posts on her Facebook page, one realizes she wasn’t just one of ours, she was one of everybody’s. That’s who Carri was. No one and nothing was to little or too much. She worked in Bethel and lived in Norway and both communities are better for having her.

Generous to a fault, she would get whatever needed doing done regardless of the inconvenience to her. It didn’t matter if it wasn’t in her job description.

While we can’t get her back, we can honor her.

We can all have a smile on our face regardless of how we are feeling. We can lend a hand, go above and beyond, volunteer, reach out, befriend someone new, be gentle and kind and stand up for something or someone … .

Carri personified what community should be.

We shall miss her.
