HARTFORD, Conn. — Meghan Graff made a pair of foul shots with 1:04 left to lift fifth-seeded Bates to a 57-55, upset win over top-seeded Trinity in the NESCAC women’s basketball semifinals Saturday.

Bates advances to the conference championship game on Sunday to face No. 3 Amherst, which beat No. 2 Tufts in Saturday’s other semifinal.

Graff finished with 20 points for the Bobcats. Ariana Dalia had 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Morgan Kennedy had 14 points.

Reilly Campbell had 18 points for the Bantams.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
CHICAGO 8, BATES 7, OT: Lulu Hardy scored her third goal of the game in overtime to lift the Maroons over the Bobcats in a mutual season opener in Chicago.

Kate Loughlin led Bates with three goals. The Bobcats got goals from Sadie O’Neil and Caroline Taggart in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Sophie Scola and Trish Balser also scored for Bates, and Cammie Lavoie made eight saves in net.

BASEBALL
GROVE CITY 9, BATES 5: Noah Jankowski homered and Antonio Jareno and Tyler Attal each had RBI singles for Bates (1-1) in a loss to Grove City (3-1) at Auburndale, Florida.
