WORCESTER, Mass. — Two local students completed research projects last fall at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Hope Hutchinson of Greene, majoring in biology and biotechnology and a member of the class of 2023, completed a project entitled “Promoting Sustainable Stewardship of Green Spaces in Venice.”
Harmoni Larrabee of Lewiston, majoring in computer science and also a member of the class of 2023, completed the project called “Measuring Patent Examination Consistency at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.”
At WPI, all undergraduates are required to complete a research-driven, professional-level project that applies science and technology to addresses an important societal need or issue. About two-thirds of students complete a project at one of the university’s 50-plus off-campus project centers, which are located around the world.
