FARMINGTON — Tia Day led University of Maine at Farmington with 17 points in a 79-57 win over University of Maine at Presque Isle in women’s college basketball action Friday.

Page Brown and McKenna Brodeur each had 12 points in the win for the Beavers (8-6, 3-3 NAC). Bea Stafford came off the bench for 11 points and starter Alex Bessey had 10 points.

Emily Wheaton led the Owls (7-8, 2-6) with 15 points and Hunter Mercier had 10 points.

CENTRAL MAINE 86, SPRINGFIELD TECH 44: Emily Strachan paced the Mustangs with 20 points, to go along with eight rebounds, seven steals and three assists, as they pulled away in the second half of a road win over the Rams in Springfield, Mass.

Sarah Poli and Destiny Mora Lopez each added 12 points for the Mustangs, who led 34-20 at halftime. Poli also grabbed 13 rebounds and Mora Lopez pulled down 16.

MEN’S BASKETBALL 
UMAINE-FARMINGTON 88, UMAINE-PRESQUE ISLE 84: Terion Moss led the Beavers (7-5, 3-2 NAC) with 20 points in a win over the Owls (8-7, 3-2) in Farmington.

Zach Brown had 18 points and Jack Kane had 16 for the Beavers. Drew Storey came off the bench with 10 points.

Griffin Guerrette had a game-high 33 points for the Owls and Dany Harris had 19 points. KJ Minter came off the bench to chip in 11 points.

COLBY 79, BATES 63: Matt Hanna had 25 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals to power the Mules (9-8, 1-3 NESCAC) past the Bobcats (6-7, 0-4) at Waterville.

Noah Tyson chipped in with 16 points and five rebounds for Colby.

Simon McCormick scored 18 points for Bates. Stephon Baxter had 16 points and Jacob Iwowo added 13.

MEN’S HOCKEY
MAINE 4, BOSTON COLLEGE 1: Grant Hebert had two goals and an assist as the Black Bears (4-14-4, 2-10-2 Hockey East) rolled past the Eagles.

Adam Dawe and Jakun Sirota also scored for Maine while goalie Victor Ostman made 32 saves.

Marc McLaughlin scored for Boston College, while Eric Dop made 33 saves.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY
MAINE 2, PROVIDENCE 1: Ally Johnson and Mira Seregely each scored as the Black Bears (11-13-1, 9-8-1 Hockey East) used two power-plays to rally past the Friars (8-11-5, 5-10-2) in Providence, Rhode Island.

Loryn Porter made 41 saves for Maine.
