Andy “Buzz” Gagnon, left, and Ryan “Greeny” Walter of Auburn Public Works resurface the ice skating rink Thursday at Anniversary Park in Auburn. The rink was built for this weekend’s Auburn Winter Festival, but the skating parties have been rescheduled for Feb. 5 from 3 to 6 p.m. and Feb. 6 from noon to 2 p.m. due to the snowstorm forecast for Saturday. Free hot cocoa and cookies will be available around the fire pit and inside the warming tent. As for Gagnon’s and Walter’s nicknames: “Everybody has a nickname at Auburn Public Works,” Walter said. “If you don’t, you’re new and nobody knows you.” Daryn Slover/Sun Journal
