AUBURN — Andrew Clements scored 19 seconds into the game and Edward Little rolled to a 3-0 Class A boys hockey win over Falmouth at Norway Savings Bank Arena on Wednesday.
Aiden Gonzalez had the assist on Clements’ goal.
After a scoreless second period, Jack Keefe stretched the Red Eddies (6-0) lead to 2-0 early in the third period. Peyton Dyer scored later in the third, with Gavin Foss providing the assist.
Gage Ducharme made 19 saves for the shutout and Chase Bevan made 22 saves for the Navigators (2-4).
GIRLS BASKETBALL
OAK HILL 59, BOOTHBAY 36: The Raiders (2-3) took down the Seahawks (0-4) in an MVC tilt in Wales.
Gabby Chessie scored 14 points to lead Oak Hill, while teammate Ariana Thibeault added 12 in the victory.
Boothbay was paced by Jaelynn Crocker’s 17 points. Boothbay struggled to score in the second half, however, adding just 11 points to its tally in the final two quarters combined.
SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 79, TELSTAR 18: The Phoenix (4-0) ran away from the Rebels (0-4) in Jay.
Jaydn Pingree led all scorers with 28 points, including 14 in the second quarter alone. Olivia Mastine added 17, while Aubrey Kachnovich tacked on 13.
Telstar’s Morgan Zetts scored 14 to pace the Rebels.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 53, BUCKFIELD 28: The Falcons jumped out to a 19-6 first-quarter lead thanks in part to 10 points from Autumn Freeman in an MVC win over the Bucks in Buckfield.
Freeman finished with a game-high 19 points, Madison Dow scored eight and Emily Richard and Emma Clukey each added seven points apiece for Mountain Valley.
Addison Stevens-Belanger paced Buckfield with 10 points, while Alyssa Litchfield and Emily Carrasquillo both dropped in five points.
