BRIDGTON — Gallery 302 is pleased to welcome potter Traci Witham to its cooperative gallery. Traci says that growing up in a small upstate New York town really set her roots in the wonders of nature.
Her grandmother was an inspirational part of allowing her heart to grow and her love of nature to blossom. Traci has always appreciated the beauty and expression found in works of art. She studied photography, line drawing, and charcoal sketching at the University of Maine.
The course of life changes often, and Traci went on to work a successful career in retail management. Her heart called her back to the world of art, so in 2015, she started a journey learning to specialize in traditional hand-thrown pottery. Following her bliss, and maybe a few little pushes from her family, she left a corporate career in 2021 to build a home studio.
Traci now focuses full-time on creating beautiful forms, accentuated by unique glaze combinations. Her art is made to be both visually appreciated and functional. Traci lives in beautiful Waterford, Maine with her long-term partner, two dogs, twenty chickens, and a rescue cat. They have four children in a blended family and their first grandchild is on the way.
Witham’s pottery can be found at Gallery 302, located at 112 Main Street in Bridgton. For more information, call 207-647-2787 or visit gallery302.com.
