Why do you think you’re the most qualified, or best candidate for this seat?
I am the nominated candidate and running unopposed. I stand on my record of representing the will of my constituents, being open, available, and serving with honesty, integrity and conservative common sense.
Please name two issues that you believe are critical to Lewiston’s future, and how you would address them.
Continued improvement of our public safety system. We have started to address infrastructure issues by replacing the first of three fire substations, we are working on addressing police needs and we will be selecting department heads in both police and fire that will provide the leadership needed to make sure Lewiston residents have excellent public safety services.
Lewiston needs to identify and enact some sustainable economic development. Despite the pandemic, which has tried to hobble our efforts, we have brought about some changes that will improve Lewiston. There is much to be done.
Do you support the New England Clean Energy Connect transmission line project? Why or why not?
I do. The economic impact for Lewiston could be huge, positive if approved and most certainly negative if rejected. I’m not in any way a cheerleader for or supporter of Central Maine Power and I hope Lewiston residents will not allow any distaste for CMP to cloud their outlook. There is much misinformation being spread and voters need to perform their due diligence.
