LEWISTON — With Election Day less than a month away, voters can get an early jump Thursday at City Hall.
The city’s early polling location, now an annual offering during November elections, allows voters to cast an in-person absentee ballot. The municipal election is Tuesday, Nov. 2.
According to a news release from the City Clerk’s office, early voting will be conducted in the City Council Chamber on the first floor of City Hall from Oct. 14 through 28. The polling station will be available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, with extended hours until 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28.
All voters will receive the state referendum ballot and a city ward ballot with races for mayor, School Committee and City Council, as well as nine city charter amendments.
Residents who would like to obtain an absentee ballot but are unable to go to City Hall are welcome to call the City Clerk’s office at 513-3124 to have it mailed to them. The statewide deadline to request an absentee ballot is 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28.
The city’s election website contains sample ballots, directions to the polling places and more information.
