NEWTON, Mass. — Lasell University’s spring symposium, “The Invention of Now,” was held at the end of the semester to showcase student scholarship in various fields and present research projects to the greater community.
Three local students presented work.
Naiv Luciano Velez of Auburn participated in a video presentation, “What Does Conscious Awareness Mean to Me?” as one of Lasell University’s resident assistants.
Riley Silvia of Raymond shared an essay in the university’s annual publication of top student writing, Fresh Thoughts.
Wyatt Edwards of Gray researched a controversy related to race or immigration and hypothesized what various social groups might say in reaction to the topic. They then conducted interviews to test the hypothesis and understand nuanced reactions to social issues.
The symposium is one of two annual research symposia held at Lasell University. Student presentations provide scholarly insights into a variety of industry topics, and showcase practical skills and career competencies across those industries.
